I’m going to be frank with you. The best thrift stores in Vancouver are in fact, not in Vancouver (Hint: check out Talize in Delta and Langley). However the best curated vintage shops? SO many. But if you want legitimate thrift stores (and I’m talking the kind where you can find a cool 1980s band tee from a rack of George t-shirts) then you NEED to leave the city. That being said, there are a handful of thrift stores in Vancouver that are definitely worth visiting if you have a hankering for a thrift and don’t want to trek it out of the city.
First, the TLDR. For more tips (and quite frankly, to help increase my website’s engagement rate) – please, keep scrolling!

Thriftique has a solid selection of second hand clothing, along with kids’ clothes and housewares. The folks that work there are helpful and friendly. Their Kingsway location has been open for awhile but they opened a second spot on Main Street in early 2024, which is definitely worth checking out. They also offer a 15% off discount for seniors and students at their Kingsway location. Follow along on their Instagram accounts (Kingsway, Main) as they often post about sales and featured items.

Wildlife Thrift Store is another thrift store in Vancouver that is worth checking out. It is known to have slightly higher prices, but has a trendy interior and decent curation. It’s also the only one on this list that is *right* downtown. You’ll find everything here from clothes and handbags to luggage and home decor. Plus, there’s a dressing room (need I say more?). They’re open until 8 PM, perfect for those with busy schedules.
The Wildlife Thrift store is a privately owned, for-profit business, that donates quarterly to charities in each store’s respective neighbourhood. Their key partner in Vancouver is Covenant House.
Tip: They’re open to offers due to so much inventory, so don’t hesitate to negotiate a good deal on your finds
The SPCA Thrift Store has two locations—one in Kits and one in East Van—both supporting the SPCA with their revenue. The Kits spot is clean, organized, and has fitting rooms (a luxury these days, RIP change rooms). Over in East Van, you’ll find two resident cats, a well-organized shop, and a mix of secondhand clothing and furniture downstairs. That location, in particular, has seriously stepped it up in recent years, so if you haven’t been lately, it might be time for a revisit.

Rummage Community Thrift is a good one. Small but packed, with a solid mix of high-quality vintage and budget-friendly finds. It’s well-organized, not a chaotic mess, and it’s right off the 99 bus route so getting there is easy. The staff (especially the owner) are known for being friendly and helpful, which only adds to the community vibe.
Tip: Follow them on Instagram as they post about sales and host cool clothing swaps

Aunt Leah’s Thrift in Vancouver is a decent spot for finding gently used clothing and accessories, along with a variety of small furniture and household items. They have a frequently changing and tastefully-curated selection. All profits help prevent children in foster care from becoming homeless and support vulnerable mothers.

Green Thrift Stores is a well-loved thrift store in Kerrisdale. There are no clothes but instead a selection of books, kitchenware, electronics, and jewelry. The prices are very reasonable, and the owner is known for being particularly friendly. We love an owner who has a presence in their own shop! This store is one of the best thrift stores in Vancouver if you are looking for something unique for yourself or as a gift.
Tip: There are steep stairs to get down to the shop door so might not be the most accessible spot
Address: 323 E Broadway, Vancouver
Miscellany Thrift and Vintage is a cozy little spot that sits somewhere between a curated thrift store and a classic donation-based shop. The owner is known for being warm and helpful, and everything gets steamed before hitting the floor, which is a rare touch. The selection is solid, prices are reasonable, and despite the small space, they actually have a change room (!!!). If you’re after quality thrift finds in Vancouver, this one’s worth a visit.
Address: 4355 Main St, Vancouver
The Still Fabulous Thrift Shop is a solid choice for one of the best thrift stores in Vancouver. The selection here is a bit small but its got a great selection of men’s, women’s, and children’s clothing. Plus: change rooms (take note Value Village)! The shop benefits the BC Children’s and Women’s Hospitals Auxiliaries.
Tip: Keep tabs on their Instagram for announcements on 50% off sales on certain tag colors.

Vancouver General Hospital Thrift Store has clothes, books, housewares and knick knacks. The store is small but packed. This place is volunteer-run and all profits go to Vancouver Coastal Health facilities. A solid choice if you’re searching for the best thrift stores in Vancouver.

JL Vancouver Thrift Store is a small shop with a wide variety of goodies, including art, glassware, dishes, clothing and jewelry. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the neighbourhood!

Check out Thrift and Treasures in East Van if you’re looking for a spot to thrift where new treasures appear regularly (see what I did there?). The owners are very friendly and helpful, and really make shopping here a great experience. Perfect for a casual browse if you’re in the area.
