Burlington Humane Society Attic Store

Address: 479 John St, Burlington

The Burlington Humane Society Attic Store sells second hand items in order to help the animals! We love the animals! The staff are welcoming and shopping or making donations at the Burlington Humane Society Attic Store goes directly towards helping the animals they care for and support.

Tip: they are cash only so be prepared for your visit!

Mission Thrift Store Burlington

Address: 2421 New St, Burlington

The Mission Thrift Store in Burlington is a good spot for unique finds, known for its friendly staff and auctions. They have clothing, housewares, frames, jewellery, books etc.. It’s a non-profit, volunteer-driven shop. However, purchases support Bible League Canada, which admittedly has some questionable initiatives. By that I mean I would prefer if my money does not go to an organization measuring success by the number of “New Followers of Jesus” annually (among other missionary-like goals). I say this only so you can shop with awareness. I personally, still shop there. Forgive me.

The Salvation Army Thrift Store

Address: 3245 Fairview St, Burlington

The Salvation Army Thrift Store in Burlington has friendly staff and affordable clothes, especially coats. You can also get great prices on things for the house, books, and DVDs. Everything’s neat and easy to find, with kids’ clothes by size and other stuff by colour. Plus, most things don’t have tax added.

Burlington ReStore Thrift Store

Address: 1800 Appleby Line Unit 10, Burlington

The Burlington ReStore is a good choice for used furniture, building materials and household items. Items range from average to new condition. Staff are helpful and your purchases support home-building projects via Habitat for Humanity. With a large space and extensive inventory, including lamps, dressers, side tables, dishes, pet beds, and books, it’s a standout among thrift stores in Burlington for both selection and value.

Value Village (Fairview street)

Address: 2340 Fairview St, Burlington

Value Village is on this list by default. It beats out smaller shops when it comes to convenient business hours, variety of categories to shop in one location and product turnover. But it loses when it comes to pricing (yowza!) and the fact that it is a for-profit thrift store. This location in particular tends to be smaller and less well-organized so if i’m being honest that’s not a lot of redeeming qualities. Please sign up for their newsletter so you can at least be aware of when they are having sales.
