Is it just me or is the “thrift store per capita” in Winnipeg quite high?! I mean there’s almost 30 thrift stores in Winnipeg, including 5 Value Villages, 6 Salvation Armys and A TON of independent shops. If you’re looking for where to go to find the best second hand deals (because that ain’t always Value Village) then here’s a list of the other best thrift stores in Winnipeg.

Reclothify [Closed as of 2025]

Reclothify has made the decision to close their retail location as of 2025. They are however in the process of moving their Warehouse to a new location. Keep an eye on their Instagram account for news of when they are reopening.

The Overflow

Address: 919 McLeod Ave, Winnipeg

The Overflow is a volunteer-run thrift store in Winnipeg that supports women who have experienced domestic violence, trafficking, or exploitation. Profits help these women rebuild their lives and return to the workplace. The shop sells secondhand women’s clothing at exceptionally reasonable prices. And yes, they have change rooms!

Prairie Crocus Thrift Shop

Address: 919 McLeod Ave, Winnipeg

Prairie Crocus Thrift Shop is a non-profit thrift store in Winnipeg that creates sustainable funding for Finding Freedom and Dignity House. They’ve got really good prices aaand you can feel good about supporting them (both by donating and shopping here second hand). The people who work here are super nice, making the whole thrift shopping experience better. The place is well-organized and has a creative touch in how things are displayed. Lot’s of furniture and housewares along with clothing, books and games. Definitely a good spot to spend some time thrift hunting.

Revive and Thrive Thrift Wholesale

Address: 1032 Logan Ave, Winnipeg

Revive and Thrive is an Indigenous-led thrift store in Winnipeg and is an integral part of the local community. Along with being a thrift store they also make care packages for people getting out of homelessness and donate excess hats and mitts to the Bear Clan patrol. Proceeds from the thrift store supports local programs like the Ready Set Go work program. The thrift store often runs sales and has special discount days for seniors and Indigenous folks. And is it just me or do they *always* have a live band playing? I’m not sure but there sure happens to be a lot of live music whenever I stop by.

Annie’s Attic

Address: 1560 Main St, Winnipeg

Annie’s Attic mixes thrift shopping with cats. My two favourite hobbies! You can search for cool second hand gems, sip coffee, and meet cats up for adoption. Everything you buy helps D’Arcy’s ARC directly! The staff are friendly, and like any thrift store, it’s hit or miss on what you’ll find. But when you do find something, it’s a win. Plus, your money’s going to the cats. Worth it.

Note: there is a mandatory $5 donation if you specifically want to hang out with the kitties.

Never Too Old

Address: 476 St Mary’s Rd, Winnipeg

If you’re looking for thrift stores in Winnipeg for a good hunt and good deals, Never Too Old is worth a stop. I mean, the pricing is a good deal if offered at 50% off. Which it always is. They are having a perpetual 50% off sale. This place is straightforward – clothes, supports charities, friendly folks. Looking for something? They likely have it at half off. The owner’s helpful, making sure you find what you need. Wondering why it’s always 50% off? Me too.

SuperThrift Winnipeg

Address: 1016 St James St, Winnipeg

SuperThrift is another top choice for thrift stores in Winnipeg if you are avoiding Value Village (which in this case, happens to be right next door). They have a rotating selection of sales so keep an eye on their social media to see what the sale of the day is. Seniors get 30% off on Tuesdays, which can either be a reason to visit (if you are a time-honoured treasure hunter!) or a reason to go another day as it tends to be a bit busier. Shopping at SuperThrift supports Adult & Teen Challenge programs, so it’s money well spent.

Just Like New To You

Address: 635 Portage Ave, Winnipeg

Just Like New To You is run by the White Cross Guild and offers a variety of secondhand goods like clothes, shoes, and kitchen wares. Sale proceeds support the Health Sciences Centre. It is a tricky one to visit with such limited hours (10-3, Wednesday to Friday) but honestly sometimes that’s how you know there will be good finds. Only the most loyal treasure hunters will make the time to visit somewhere with such inconvenient hours. Definitely worth a look if you can find some midday time during the week for a browse.

Kavod Thrift Store

Address: 531 Notre Dame Ave, Winnipeg

Kavod Thrift Store in downtown Winnipeg is operated by B’nai Brith Canada and opened in late 2024. It offers a variety of second-hand items, with proceeds supporting the organization’s community initiatives.

The Up Shoppe

Address: 382 Selkirk Ave, Winnipeg

The Up Shoppe in Winnipeg is a thrift store that sells carefully selected new and gently used clothing and accessories at affordable prices. Operated by newc, proceeds support programs and services for women and gender-diverse individuals. The shop also provides emergency clothing free of charge to those in critical need.

Mission Thrift Store

Address: 701 Regent Ave W, Winnipeg

Mission Thrift Store is another one of the best thrift stores in Winnipeg. It is large, well-organized and even has change rooms (!!!). Very good prices on furniture and lots of it. However, purchases here support Bible League Canada, which admittedly has some questionable initiatives. By that I mean I would prefer if my money does not go to an organization measuring success by the number of bibles distributed annually (among other goals). I say this only so you can shop with awareness.
