Let’s kick off 2025 with some simple “Thrifty Thoughts” to keep in mind as you browse and treasure hunt this year.
Thrifty Thoughts for 2025
- Thrifting is about the hunt, not the haul: Have fun browsing but don’t feel pressured to buy just for the sake of it.
- Embrace a ‘catch and release’ mindset: Just because you find something really special, doesn’t mean it needs to come home with you. Take a photo [mental or real] to remember a cool find but then release it for another thrifter to discover.
- Always be prepared: My favourite way to be prepared is to have a detailed list of ‘things i’m looking for’. On my list for 2025: a statement pedestal cake stand to display the 2-layer chocolate cake I make once a year. Perhaps if I had a fancy cake stand I would make cake more than once per year?
